Sponsoring Gatherings That Have Become Beloved Community Traditions

The Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce sponsors several community events throughout the year to bring people together in the spirit of celebrating our business community, spreading holiday cheer, and just good family fun. Below is a sampling of our annual events.

Athens Christmas Open House

This annual Christmas shopping tradition is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Athens Main Street. The event is hosted the weekend before Thanksgiving and helps kick start the local holiday shopping season.

Athens retail businesses participate by offering in-store specials, refreshments, and door prizes for shoppers. Downtown shoppers can enjoy carolers, visits with Christmas characters, a visit from Mrs. Claus and Santa, and carriage rides around the courthouse.

At participating merchants, shoppers should be on the lookout for the “Christmas Elf on the Store Shelf” for a chance to win a special prize. This holiday shopping tradition is an event you don’t want to miss!

Chamber Annual Meeting

Each April, the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce hosts the Chamber Annual Meeting. The gala serves as the chamber’s yearly awards ceremony to recognize individuals in the community who impact Athens and Limestone County through their leadership.

The Chamber Annual Meeting is a celebration to reflect on our accomplishments, recognize those who have been instrumental in realizing our mission and vision, and plan for the future of the Chamber and the community.

Chamber Sporting Clays Tournament

The Chamber’s Sporting Clays Tournament began in 2014 and is a non-traditional networking event with a dash of competition to add to the fun. The event is open to any chamber member, including those competing in the tournament.
